Lee Medical provides its Filemaker Pro-based VAST software to approximately sixty hospitals and other medical facilities. The software helps detect infections by providing real-time patient surveillance, monitoring a patient’s catheter throughout its life.
When a medical staff member arrives at a patient’s bedside, he or she is able to login to VAST and access all of that patient’s medical data. This not only saves time, but it is more error-proof. The data is stored in a central database on a secure server, making sure it is both accurate and safe.
According to Filemaker Go, Lee Medical uses its software to monitor Vascular Access Devices, which can lead to infection and other complications if not inserted properly. VAST monitors the device, ensuring it remains properly inserted at all times.
“By running Filemaker Go for iPad, we have been able to achieve a dramatic breakthrough and the end result is a much needed value proposition for healthcare: improved quality and reduced costs,” Lee Medical president Michele Lee says.
VAST is not only more efficient and secure, it saves money for hospitals by reducing the number of infections.
